I was taken back at first when I saw the unique architecture of the new building currently under construction at 207 Seaside Way. This 112 unit luxury apartment building named Sonata has a futuristic almost Gaudi inspired look to it that, to be honest, kind of turned me off at first. However, now that I have seen how the new pedestrian bridge is turning out and have taken a dozen more looks at the most recent renderings of Sonata it has started to grow on me.
I am sure people will be critical, but I think it is nice to see a project be a little daring. It may inspire other developers to go out on edge a little and create some exciting plans to continue improving our Long Beach community. My hat’s off to the developer, Ensemble Real Estate Investments. It fits with Downtown Long Beach while helping bring a little more density and character to the Ocean Corridor and Long Beach as a whole. I also admire the connectivity that this fascinating bridge brings.
